AMERICAN EXPRESS TRAIN, 1946 reprint of the lithograph of Currier and Ives. Hand colored & published by Artist Publishing Co., New York City. Archival linen backed with the outter boarders cleaned during the backing. Very nice clean bright colors

It is a good print for railroad ticket and express offices and for travelers from abroad who wish to show their friends the modes of travelling in America. Currier eventually teamed up with James Merritt Ives and the firm of Currier & Ives was born. They went on to produce over 7500 titles and over one million prints from 1835 to 1907 and provided the American public with the pleasure of having original art in their homes at an affordable price.
