Antique Civil War Era Union US Model 1855 Springfield Socket Bayonet
Please Note:
I am not a Collector or expert on American Civil War items and collectibles but will try to answer any questions that you may have. Likewise if you have any additional info/corrections that you would be willing to share I would appreciate it and use it to update this listing.
Bayonet is missing scabbard but is otherwise complete. Bayonet does have spots of surface wear but is in very good condition for being 165+ years old. Does have some spots of rust but can be cleaned. Free of corrosion, cracks, chips or other major damage.
Overall length is 21 inches long with an 18" blade and & 3" socket. A Penny will fit all the way down the opening of the socket.
