    Description

    Antique Rare Vintage Civil War Socket Bayonet. I read that soldiers actually disliked bayonets and used them for many other purposes, this one may had seen "service" as a tent stake. The end has been beaten quite a few times....otherwise no knicks along the edge. 20 1/2" long. "S" clearly visible, the symbol in front of it not legible, assume a "U" but looks like it was something else, perhaps a number. Could just be the patina messing with it.
    Don't know what rifle this would have been on, not a military collector.
