Good condition original Civil War US Model 1860 Staff & Field Officer sword that is marked on the left ricasso with a gothic letter inside a shield. 29” blade has original bright finish with some graying. Edge has a few nicks. Nice etching on both sides including the retailer “HORSTMANN PHILADELPHIA” on the left side. Brass hilt fittings have untouched patina. The détente for the folding guard is missing. Sharkskin covered grip has loosened wire wrap. Fitted in an original steel scabbard that is marked “HARTLEY & GRAHAM NEW YORK” on the brass fitting. Tip is missing. A classic Civil War sword for your collection.
