Condition:
The bowie bayonet is in good condition. Bayonet catch has broken and missing part of the latch. It is not functional as a bayonet in its current configuration. Wooden grip has no major chips but does have a few minor scratches. It is securely fastened. Pommel, guard and blade show no signs of rust but there is a little bit of verdigris.
There are a couple very minor nicks, but no pitting to the blade. Knife is a spearpoint and the tip is intact. Sheath is in fair condition. Tip has some wear and the brass has come loose. Leather stitching is tight and the rivets are securely fastened on the top brass by the throat. There are signs of verdigris on the throat and tip where the brass has separated from the leather. Bowie bayonet and sheath may need a light cleaning to meet your standards. Please see our photographs for a better understanding of the contents and its condition.
