This is a Superbly crafted Javanese Bedhug Drum used in the Gamelan orchestras of
the Indonesian Archipelago.....it is the size of a small BARRELL ........
The drum is 28" long,  with both heads of 18 1/2" diameter...HUGE!!!
It is considered
professional quality
in Indonesia. made to the best specifications by the best
manufacturers, and the same one used by the best Gamelan Orchestras in RARE and SPECIAL OCCASIONS......
This was bought by myself from the local maker and NEVER  used.
NOTE ON CONDITION: Some paint chips and paint bubbles (see photos), can be re-painted, or better yet, WRAP IN A NICE MATERIAL , like the Indonesians do....

are of equal size and nailed on , and one of the heads is struck with a beater. because of the strong thud produced
the drum is restricted to certain loud pieces, usually associated with Dance or ceremonial occasions.
This is a two headed drum, with heavy metal pegs and made from the finest of woods available.
It has an attractive heavy metal handle.
