  • Condition: For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in. Poster in used condition, with signs of age/storage related wear. Age related spotting/toning, paper slightly brittle, should be handled carefully, though it can roll for shipping. Bumped/rubbed edges. Left edge is nicked in three places. Random nicks along edges. Top / bottom center have old tape or tape marks. Small hole just left of the L in London. Tear underneath the OND in LONDON on the bottom edge. Some paper loss at the top edge as well. Lighter color around the perimeter comes from being in a frame for years. Very minor creasing in random spots (ex. see photo 12). The color may be faded, but unclear. Despite the above, the poster displays beautifully! Would benefit from restoration, proper treatment, and framing. Matting alone would hide many flaws. Please examine photos closely! If you have any questions or would like more photos, please ask!

, a rare, original 1931, Royal Scot 6100 color travel poster, by Pieter Irwin Brown or P. Irwin Brown. The "Royal Scot" London (Euston) to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Color poster on smooth paper surface. Measures approximately 20" x 24"
It does not seem this makes it to market often. Of the few posters that have come up, the Royal Scot engine number is 6119, not 6100, which makes this an earlier version. The original
    Royal Scot
was built in 1927 and maintained the identity of 6100, until it "swapped identities permanently" in 1933, with another engine. Thus the original Royal Scot 6100 was only around for six years. Ships rolled in a hard tube. If the purchase is outside the US, it will ship in a rolled tube with additional packaging.
London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Royal Scot Class
    6100
    (British Railways' number
    46100
    )
    Royal Scot
    (formerly
    6152
    King's Dragoon Guardsman
prior to identity swap) is a preserved British steam locomotive. The original 6100 was the first of its class, built in 1927 by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow. It was named
    Royal Scot
    after the Royal Scots.
    In 1933, 6152
    The King's Dragoon Guardsman
and 6100 swapped identities permanently. 6152 had been built at Derby Works in 1930. The new
    Royal Scot
was sent to the Century of Progress Exposition of 1933 and toured Canada and the United States with a train of typical LMS carriages.
