The Wind Wand combines the sound of the didgeridoo and the bullroarer. Constructed of wood with a rubber band resonator, the Wind Wand is twirled with the handle, creating a variety of interesting sounds. By repositioning the rubber band, it can be tuned to different relative pitches.Two wind wands can be played at the same time in different tunings. A haunting, unique sound. * I got tired of low quality dowels available at box stores and local stores alike, so I invested in a dowel maker from Canada, and make all my own materials for these now. I use wood I have scavenged from crates and pallets, some from exotic locations, so sometimes the shafts are various types of mahogany, sometimes domestic poplar, oak or maple. I now also turn all the larger dowels on a lathe, since the quality is so much better, so there is some wood color variation from the picture above. Another improvement is the spinning handle is now turned from a solid piece, like a bodhran tipper, not glued up from a premade ball and shoddy dowel.
