    Description

    Solid example of Model 1816 Springfield socket bayonet made by Nathan Starr for a US musket contract. "US" and "NS" is deeply stamped into the blade. . Blade is triangular with deep fuller. The socket has a M/1816-style T-mortise, for a musket with a lug on top of the barrel bridge over socket is complete. It's hard to find examples of Nathan Starr's bayonets.
