Set " Antique "is based on the Museum sample of the famous" Raphael " service, work on which began in the late XIX century. The Raphael set, decorated with drawings of Raphael loggias in the Vatican, was ordered at the Imperial porcelain factory in 1883 by Alexander III. The project was developed and approved with the personal participation of the Emperor.
The Raphael tea set was the most ambitious work performed on the plant in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. It was created for 20 years: each item is individual, different colored backgrounds, ornaments and plot motifs. Part of the service annually performed as a gift to the Imperial family for Christmas.
Rich ornamental decor included grotesque ornaments and medallions with allegorical images of grisaille. For the Raphael service, a special stamp was developed: a large monogram of Emperor Alexander III in Slavic script, executed in gold and red paint.
Nowadays, the original design of the "Raphael" set on a modern form was mastered by the masters of the Imperial porcelain factory under the combined method of decoration and embodied in the "Antique"set. Every thing in the service to the individual: vary color backgrounds, patterns and themes.
