US Civil War Model 1840 Emerson & Silver NJ Artillery Sword Saber w/Scabbard

Description

US Civil War Model 1840 Artillery Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "Emerson & Silver" over "Trenton" and "NJ" on one side and "N.J" over "1863" on the other. The guard does wiggle a bit, the grip is tight, the leather wrap is 85% complete and all of the twisted wire is complete. the cross guard is marked "F". The blade is straight, has not been sharpened, the tip is sharp, a few light nicks on the last 6" and it has some light age spots scattered throughout. The scabbard is solid with a couple minor dings, it has some pitting about halfway down on one side (about a 7" section) and more pitting on the drag with a 1/4" x 1/16" hole. The leather washer is intact. Length of the blade is 31 5/8" (1 1/16" wide and 1/4" thick), the sword is 37", and in the scabbard it is 38 3/8".
