    Description

    US Civil War Model 1860 USN Naval Cutlass with Leather Scabbard. The ricasso is double marked with the scroll "Ames Mfg Co" over "Chicopee, Mass" and on the reverse is an anchor over "1861". The guard has "303" stamped on it. The grip and guard are tight. The brass knuckleguard cup has been removed at some point and the brass has been buffed. The leather grip is 25% complete. The blade is straight, has not been sharpened, the tip is a little sharp, a couple minor nicks, very light age spots scattered here and there.
    The leather scabbard is solid with light wear, frog stud is still attached, the studded backside is tight, and the scabbard comes up about a 1/2" shy of going all the way on, typical leather shrinkage

    asher is missing. Length of the blade is 26 1/8" (1 1/4" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword is 31 7/8" and overall in the scabbard it is 32 1/8".
