Vintage Antique 1930s Alligator (faux?) Leather Men's Suitcase

I don't even know if this is of any value, but it was a quality piece of luggage in its day and it's in great condition so here we go.
c1930s suitcase, hard sided, 'alligator' skin look, but I suspect that to be pressed into cowhide rather than real alligator, which would be rougher.
Suitcase has an removable inner shelf with its own cover.  There's also a 'pat pend' bar for...well I'm not sure what.
Liner has a bit of brown age spotting but it's all intact with no tears.
It smells a bit musty and 'old' inside but there's no sign of mildew and no actual damage.
Outside has some scuffs and paint rubs, and one torn spot which I have pictured.
There's just one sticker on the side, also photographed. It's from US Customs, dated 1940.
Latches work perfectly, but of course I don't have the key.
Previous owner (my grandpa)'s name in gold under the handle.  Looks brand new.
